For over a decade, Emo Night at Ding Dong Lounge has been the emotional epicentre of Aotearoa’s emo and pop-punk scene. Born upstairs at Dead Witch in 2014, it’s grown into a full-blown cultural movement—where eyeliner runs, hearts break, and every chorus hits like a memory.
This October, we’re back with another stacked night of nostalgia, chaos, and catharsis.
Downstairs in the main bar, DJs Trix, Abby, and Drew Bang will be spinning the anthems that raised us—My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, blink-182, Panic! At The Disco, and more. Expect scream-alongs, dance breakdowns, and zero judgment for crying during “I’m Not Okay.”

At Ding Dong Lounge and Dead Witch, we want everyone to enjoy live music in an environment where they feel safe, respected and welcome. Harassment, intimidation, unwanted sexual behaviour, discrimination and violence have no place at our events. We ask everyone to respect personal boundaries and consent, look out for one another and help create a positive and inclusive community.
If you experience or witness behaviour that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please speak to the Duty Manager or a member of our team as soon as possible. We take concerns seriously and will assess each situation to determine the most appropriate response.
We have a zero-tolerance approach to harassment, unwanted sexual behaviour, discrimination and violence. Depending on the circumstances, our team may intervene, refuse entry, remove individuals from the venue and/or involve Police. Our goal is simple: to ensure Ding Dong Lounge and Dead Witch remain places where everyone can enjoy live music with confidence.
