More Details

Auckland has a big weekend of live music ahead, with Iron Maiden and Megadeth playing on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November. For those not heading to Saturday's concert, we're putting on a night of our own at Dead Witch.

Tāmaki Makaurau Takeover brings together Master Frank Fu and Sonshine Unit for a night of live music, followed by metal karaoke upstairs and DJs downstairs at Ding Dong Lounge.

Master Frank Fu take a different approach to heavy music, combining traditional Eastern instruments and influences with Western metal, bilingual vocals and martial arts-inspired performance. Their Kung Fu Metal sound makes for a distinctive live show.

Auckland duo Sonshine Unit bring something quite different to the lineup, drawing on psychedelic rock, indie and experimental noise punk. Their sound is difficult to pin down, which is part of the appeal.

Entry is just $5, with a very limited number of $5 presales available.…
